“In September Dr Greenleaf performed a cervical spinal fusion and laminectomy. The operation, which fused my vertebrae from C-2 to T-2, was very successful. Even though I have greatly reduced range of motion, I am extremely pleased with the overall outcome of my surgery. I have considerably less pain in both my neck and arms. Dr. Greenleaf prepared me very well for the surgery and any and all possible outcomes. “I met Dr. Geenleaf in a hospital bed after I had been admitted for severe back pain, saddle area numbness and what turned out to be diagnosed as Cauda Equina. Dr. Greenleaf was able to explain to me what was happening to my body and told me that usually they recommend surgery within 48 hours of symptom onset. He told me that it was my choice to receive the surgery or not and gave me his cell phone number to communicate with him directly once I had made a decision. In the face of fear and pain, Dr. Greenleaf was a calming presence for me. My surgery has gone well, I am recovering and getting back into running, one of the hobbies that I had to give up before this surgery. I couldn't be happier with my results and the care that I received in the midst of a crisis.”
