“I have been dealing with plantar fasciitis for over 8 months. I felt like my podiatrist wrote me off when I refused the "would be" 6th cortisone shot. I went to Dr. Gilmer hoping for help and answers. She ordered an MRI which showed extreme inflammation that was so bad it was in my bone. She recommended to immobilize it to help it heal. I was in a cast and then a boot for almost a month. After that, she spent close to an hour answering every question I had, explaining what she recommends I do now and why I should do it. Surgery was an option but not one I wanted. She made me feel like I had a say as well in my care. Together we decided PT, custom made orthotics, and increasing my inflammation medication would be the plan going forward. I've not healed yet but my severe issue will not go away over night. At least now I feel like I finally have a doctor that has lead me in the direction toward wellness. She cares and takes the time needed with each patient. So know that she will give you the same one-on-one care and she is worth the wait. Have your questions/concerns ready and you will get a two-way respectful, informative conversation to put you on the road to recovery. I just hope she never gets so busy that this changes because in my case her explanation and guidance was everything. After suffering for so long I now have hope.”
